A percent is a special form of ratio that compares a numerical quantity or value to 100.





Convert a percent to a decimal
To convert a percent to a decimal, remove the percent sign and divide by 100. e.g. 80% = 80/100 = 0.8
Convert a decimal to a percent
Multiply by 100 and add a percent sign. E,g, .75 = .75*100% = 75%
Change a fraction to a percent
To convert a fraction into a percent, convert it into a decimal and multiply by 100. E.g 2/3 = 200/3 = 66.66%
